Mourinho Uniting Manchester United

Mourinho Uniting Manchester United

Jose Mourinho seems to be in a good place right now. He seems to be very happy in Manchester United already. The twenty-time Premier League title winners have struggled to find a suitable replacement for Sir Alex Ferguson who, through careful consideration, recommended Everton boss David Moyes to be his successor at the club. Three seasons of disappointment later, the choice ended on Mourinho. ‘Some of the staff have already nicknamed Jose ‘Mr Meticulous’ because of his attention to detail – but the mood feels a lot lighter, albeit super-professional’.

The players have been bowled over by the manager already inside just a few days – the training ground feels alive again and there is a spring in everyone’s step,’ a training ground source told the Mirror. ‘Michael Carrick is one of the senior players but he was saying he wished he was 25 again and facing a few years playing for Mourinho. The place is absolutely buzzing’.

Given the refreshed squad, Mourinho has moved to lighten the mood around their Carrington training facility:  ‘The players know Jose will be demanding, but they are excited. They want to be competing for the league title again.

With the arrival of Mourinho, United have attracted some big-name players. Henrikh Mkhitaryan joined from Borussia Dortmund this week after Zlatan Ibrahimovic opted to swap Paris for Manchester earlier this summer.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic can be summed up in just three words ‘goalscorer, winner and funny’, according to Jose Mourinho.

The 34-year-old striker completed his move to the Premier League club earlier this month where he will be reunited with the man he worked alongside during Inter’s 2009 Serie A title-winning campaign. Ibrahimovic has a well-earned reputation as an egotist and a maverick, but Mourinho is confident he knows how to get the best out of a striker who scored 50 goals in all competitions for PSG last season.

‘Zlatan, three words – he’s a winner, he’s a goalscorer, and he’s funny – he’s a funny guy,’ said Mourinho in an interview with Adidas Front Row. ‘You need to understand him. ‘He’s a funny guy, and if you don’t know him, maybe you think with some quotes, he’s a bit arrogant. But, he’s just a funny guy. So, I would just say that. Funny, winner and goalscorer. I was so happy to get him, and obviously, he’s happy to work for me now.’

We’re all pretty happy with these news, and hope Zlatan, Mourinho and United can reach even new heights.
