The first Big Air World Cup of the new season, and we had not only one, but two 1^st places for Sweden.

With an absence of the current slopestyle World Cup champion, Tiril Sjaastad Christiansen, who was sidelined after unfortunately spraining her knee in the practice round on Thursday, it was all about Emma Dahlström during today’s finals.

Emma dominated the competition with her signature tricks and flawless style, stomping each of her three runs. Dahlström’s cork 720 tail and switch 540 safety gave her a score of 163.80 and thus the first place. Switzerlands’ Giulia Tanno and Chiles Melanie Kraizel took 2nd and 3rd place.

Henrik Harlaut started his runs with a bang, throwing down his signature nosebutter dub 1260 and sitting on top of the result board with 91.20 after the first run. He wouldn’t stay there for long as the Swiss Freeski Team’s Fabian Bösch and Luca Schuhler both stepped in and stomped their runs, pushing the Swedish rider down to third.

However, it wasn’t enough to keep Harlaut on third, as he showed what he’s famous for, going deep in the landing (on his switch dub cork 1080 nose grab) and making it looks easy as a pie. And with 183.60 points in total, he landed the first place, with Fabian Bösch and Luca Schuhler on respectable 2nd and 3rd place.

“I love being in Chile”, said Harlaut. “People are so nice over here and you could definitely feel an awesome vibe in the air during the whole competition, with people screaming as soon as you landed the trick”.
