The countdown to the new 2018 F1 season is just around the corner! We are off down under to find out who has the perfect Formula. New drivers, teams and engines are raring to go!

Will the greats get greater? Or will there be a new kid on the block?
F1 is entering its second season under new ownership and despite Mercedes’ recent dominance, a shake-up of the sport means we can expect a much closer season. We anticipate a three-way battle between the motorsport superpowers –
Mercedes, Ferrari, and Red Bull. Come November, fireworks will mark the end of the season in Abu Dhabi after the longest calendar year in F1 history. However, we’re not prepared to wait that long. It’s time to see through the smoke and foresee who will conquer this year’s championship.
To illustrate Mercedes’ monopoly of the sport last year- their car won 12 of the 20 races; took pole position 15 times; finished on the podium 26 times, all of which resulted in a well-deserved constructors’ championship – for the fourth year in a row. With the quickest car and most revered driver, will Mercedes enhance this feat or will they be stopped?
For the first time in F1 history, the field features two four-time world champions. Can either Hamilton or Vettel take a step closer to Michael Schumacher’s sublime seven titles. Will we finally see a greater feud between the two or is a new champion in the cards?
One thing we expect to see is the return of Ferrari. It’s 10 years and counting since their last Championship success. After Vettel ran agonisingly close for the title in 2017, could 2018 finally be the comeback of the Prancing Horse?
Or, could the bulls see red again and charge to the top like they did 5 years ago? Red Bull last claimed a title in 2013 but after numerous threats to leave the sport recently, will their recent complaints be silenced with a world title.
Drivers’ politics aside, this is a big year away from the grid. A controversial move from the sport’s new bosses will see ‘grid kids’ replacing the traditional ‘grid girls’ out on track. Fittingly, it is our younger drivers who seem geared up to take the Championship by storm and rewrite history. Is mad Max our man on a mission for a maiden World Championship?
They say the dream driver is young, fast and female – but it’s looking ever more likely that only two of those criteria will be satisfied. For now, we wait.
